This class can easily make you more marketable and increase your income, while saving your hands from the typical wear and tear experienced when performing a traditional massage. Myofascial Release Massage Part I, Upper Body - 22 CEU's
Created by Howard Rontal, Myofascial Release Massage is derived from Hellerwork and Rolfing, two of the most potent forms of manual therapy. In Part I, Upper Body you will learn to release chronic and acute stress, tension, and pain held in myofascial tissue. By the end of this hands-on workshop you will know how to release this unwanted stress in the chest, neck, shoulders, hands, back, and waist -- the entire upper body and be able to employ it your first day back at work. You will also learn to work on specific problems such as carpal tunnel syndrome and back pain. Taken with Part II, Lower Body, you will be able to give a complete head to toe Myofascial Release Massage. The course includes a lavishly illustrated manual. A third course, Advanced Strokes/Evaluation and Treatment as well as a Certification Process are also available.
This program is certified for 22 CEUs by the AMTA, ABMP, NCBTMB, and BOC.
In addition, you will gain an understanding of the relationship between posture and emotional attitudes and how constricted myofascial tissue leads to creating and reinforcing emotional negativity. Your hands will become supple and strong, your neck and shoulders will relax, your chest will be more open, you will naturally breathe more deeply with less effort, and your back and waist will be more flexible. Imagine how your clients will feel after you have mastered these techniques. The strokes will be taught in sequence so that once learned you will be able to give a complete Myofascial Release Massage for the upper body. To ensure that you will be able to use this work immediately your work will be reviewed by the instructor or teaching assistants for each stroke you learned. The neck, shoulders, and hand work is suitable for on-site application as well as clinical practice. We will discuss the conditions and occupations that will benefit most from this work. Contra-indications will also be noted.
The Myofascial Release Massage seminars include a manual with 150 photos to help you remember what you learned in class. Prerequisites: Massage Therapist, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Chiropractor.

Reiki II* - 8 CEU's
This course expands the knowledge and skill base learned in Reiki I. Second degree Reiki, as we teach it, consists of information based on five key symbols and how to use them. Students will learn these ancient healing symbols, and the hand movements needed continue the development of their energetic healing abilities. They will then learn how to use these energy techniques to help bring their client into the deepest relaxation state possible. Adding still, profound and deep relaxation enables the body to elicit its own healing as your release the energetic blockages that were preventing this. Your clients will experience a profound change in their mental and physical state of being.
Many believe that all things profound and life affirming are simple, and Reiki is an extremely simple method. Once you obtain the symbols visually, they become part of direct sessions and self-healing and the basis for distance healing.
At this level, your Reiki power is increased, and works at deeper levels. You will learn to transmit Reiki energy over space and time, and learn to perform ‘absentee sessions’, in which you are not sharing the physical space with the person you are working with / on. You will also learn how Reiki can be applied to ideas, situations, and events.
Traditionally, Reiki II class is not an open class, it is applied for. The student requests to advance from level one to level two. If the instructor (Reiki Master/Teacher) feels the student is ready for advancement then he will be accepted into the class. Are You Ready to Advance to Level II?
Here are a few questions for the Reiki I student to ask him/herself before moving on to Reiki II.
Are you ready for 2nd degree?
Can you feel when Reiki is drawing?
Do you have a general understanding of Reiki?
Do you use Reiki on a regular basis?
How often do you conduct self treatments?
How important is it for you to learn how to do absentia Reiki?
Are you clear about your reasons for wanting to become Reiki II?

Shiatsu For Pregnancy - 8 CEU's
Shiatsu is a Japanese form of bodywork, with the word itself meaning "finger pressure". Like acupuncture, shiatsu is based on the holistic system of traditional Chinese medicine, where illness is thought to result from imbalances in the natural flow of energy, or qi (pronounced "chee") through the body.
Shiatsu therapists use finger and palm pressure to energetic pathways, called meridians to improve the flow of qi. A scientific explanation is that shiatsu calms an overactive sympathetic nervous system, which improves circulation, relieves stiff muscles, and alleviates stresss.
Shiatsu for pregnancy is an 8-hour course that goes over pre & post natal as well as labor and delivery considerations for massage. The class consists of going over pregnancy points for relieving pain and tension during labor and delivery as well as pre and post natal points to alleviate the most common occurrences associated with pregnancy itself, including edema/swelling, morning sickness, constipation, sciatic/low back pain, and anxiety.
Michael Croes, the instructor, has been practicing Shiatsu for 7 years and has worked with numerous clients in every stage of pregnancy. The techniques learned can be incorporated with any type of massage.

Spa Treatments
Spas and the treatments they offer are increasingly popular, and no longer exclusive to the wealthy. These wellness oriented activities are becoming a regular way of life for many, and the therapists who can provide such services are becoming highly demanded as the 16 billion dollar spa industry continues to explode.
With this class, you will learn how to increase your marketability as well as your income through the use of seaweed wraps, salt glows, mud wraps and body loofahs to detoxify, hydrate, exfoliate, tone and balance skin problems while reducing stress. Another benefit to the therapist is that by adding diversity to your skill set, you will avoid the repetition injuries and boredom that could come from years of providing the same service.
Stretching for Sports
Enhance your massage practice by adding the ability to help your clients avoid injuries and perform better through advanced stretching techniques. This course will explore clinically effective modalities that will facilitate well being and peak performance through an increase in muscle flexibility - what is considered one of the key defining measures of physical fitness.
Students will learn specialized stretching techniques in a learning environment that includes lecture, demonstration, and hands-on experience. Many theoretical and technical components of advanced stretching techniques will be covered, including: Dynamic, Passive, Active, Static, PNF and PIR stretching. You will also be shown how these techniques can be easily integrated into your massage practice and how they can be used as an effective tool when treating your clients. This skill set will also open new avenues to help expand your business presence.
Structural and Functional Bodywork
Structural dysfunction affects everyone and is often the root cause of chronic pain and range of motion limitations. This class takes a holistic approach to bodywork by examining posture and movement in relation to overall well being.
In this 100 hour course, students discuss the relevance of structural and functional bodywork in preventing musculoskeletal pathology and improving functional efficiency. Students will then learn techniques that don't just treat their client's symptoms, but the origins of their client's pain.
These techniques can be used with current clients to keep them in optimal health before they suffer from musculoskeletal dysfunction, and / or provide long-term relief from clients already in pain.
The class will review basic anatomical structures with particular emphasis on joint articulation and soft tissue support structures. The class will spend 40% of the time on structural and functional anatomy and theory and 60% of the time putting learned skills into practice.
Students will learn:
The history and basis of structural and functional bodywork.
To analyze resting posture and movement efficiency.
To compare and differentiate between bodily asymmetries.
To detect and improve upon structural and functional abnormalities with specific focus on spinal and pelvic dysfunctions.
To apply massage techniques more effectively in side-lying, sitting, and standing positions.
To utilize appropriate body mechanics relevant to deep tissue and myofascial bodywork.
To correctly apply significant pressure utilizing their hands, fingers, knuckles, elbows, and forearms.
To deeply investigate the superficial fascia, deep fascia, and muscle tissue relevant to structural bodywork.
To instruct clients on movement that supports and enhances their bodywork to strategize approaches to bodywork and session design for short term and long term goals.
The class will change the way therapists view the body and the effects of their bodywork. The class is for therapists who want more variety and creativity in their practice and are seeking to take their skills and practice to another level.
Thai Massage Level I, Front Of The Body - 16 CEU's
Thai massage, also known as ancient massage, is an art traditionally performed with the client on a mat, and fully dressed. It is a total body technique, and is similar to acupressure and Shiatsu, combined with stretches and yogic Asanas. Thai massage works on the major meridians, also called energy lines, Nadis or Sen sib, which run throughout the human body. They are comparable to the meridian points in Shiatsu massage.
The aim in Thai Massage is to harmonize the body, to loosen blocks, and to recoup deficiencies along the energy lines. In contrast to traditional Chinese medicine, which uses acupuncture to manipulate the pressure points, Thai Massage stimulates these same points with healing touch. With this method, the points suffer less stress, and life energy, or Prana, is allowed to freely circulate.
In Thai Massage Level I, you will learn how to perform a 1.5 hour massage using traditional positioning.
